'RED' by Emma Case

Capturing those surrounding scenes that revolve around Anfield, Emma Case have produced an ongoing photography series entitled 'RED'. From the characters that line the concrete to the nods to Liverpool Football Club that surround the red zone of Merseyside.

Pre-match rituals come in various forms and while we all enjoy that walk up to our respective footballing meccas, each club has its own interpretation on build up. Liverpool fans proudly display their cover and from the pubs through to the cafes that surround the emphatic Anfield, there is a legacy of trinkets on every corner. Anfield in itself is a bespoke stadium, very much of in its own kind. A world famous atmosphere and fanbase that stretches across the globe, we can't deny that this is a club that resonates supreme passion across the globe - as these images from photographer Emma Case show.

With such pure vibrancy, this photography series talks with heavy emotion. It bottles the experience of Liverpool fans on a match day and while you can't smell the frying burgers or hear the sizzle as bacon slaps the pan, these shots get pretty close. This series bottles the build up in pictoral form while reminding us all of what makes going to a game such an experience and such a spectacle. Dress bright for the party and pack for favourite shirt, The Kop is most certainly one to experience but in the meantime this quenches the match day thirst pretty well.
