Framed #87 | France 98 vs FIFA 98

Zinedine Zidane brought the band back together last night as he led out the victorious France 98 World Cup squad to take on a 'FIFA 98' team assembled of former iconic players and special guests, in Nanterre near Paris.

Zidane had opened the new "ZZ10" playground with adidas Football in Saint-Denis earlier in the day, and then made his way across the capital to meet up with his old pals to celebrate the 20th anniversary of France's 3-0 World Cup Final victory against Brazil in 1998.

Joined by the likes of Thierry Henry, Emmanuel Petit, Patrick Vieira, and Laurent Blanc, Zidane put on a show for the sold out crowd to see off their star-studded opponents 3-2. Just Didier Deschamps, who lifted the trophy in the absence of the suspended Blanc two decades ago, was missing – being manager of France in World Cup week is a decent enough excuse.

Just a bunch of mates playing for the love of it. Just so happens that Henry and Zidane have still very much got it as per the below, but you already knew that. That free kick from Zidane. That no look pass and finish from Henry. Glorious.

David James having flashbacks to EURO 2004. At least he dived for this one. Good to also see Usain Bolt notching up his 45th charity game appearance of the summer.
