The MLS All Star show rolled into Atlanta this week as the USA's fastest growing football city hosted Italian giants Juventus in their annual summer showpiece. One of world football's most impressive arenas set the scene as over 72,000 packed into the Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
Riding on the football hype set by Atlanta United last season, the MLS roadshow flew into town with the very best of the MLS players roped in to test themselves against one of Europe's true heavyweights. The All Star game is a chance for American soccer to show what it can do, and in previous years their teams, who are rapidly assembled and hampered by preparation, have beaten the likes of Chelsea, Bayern Munich and Tottenham.
They ever so nearly added Juventus to that list but eventually succumbed to the Serie A champions on penalty kicks after Andrea Favilli's early strike was quickly cancelled out by the All Stars' Josef Martinez to earn the hosts a 1-1 draw. Positioned pitch side, we snapped the action for our latest 'Framed' episode.
