As the big boys enter the fray and the glamour ties commence the weekend, we're getting into the FA Cup mix by looking back at a tie from the First Round this season. Going behind the scenes for Haringey Borough's home tie with AFC Wimbledon for a bit of non-league 'Framed' magic. Can't beat it.
Stroll just one mile further west from Tottenham Hotspur's new stadium and you'll reach Coles Park, the humble home of Isthmian Premier League side Haringey Borough FC, and the venue for the BBC's first televised FA Cup game of the 2018/19 season as League One's Wimbledon were in town looking to avoid the upset that the cameras, including ours, were looking for. A chance to topple a professional outfit, expectant locals jumping on the bandwagon, empty terraces full for one night only. The FA Cup will always be beautiful.
The cold air full of unpredictability, nerves and excitement in this competition that can see postmen, plumbers and teachers land a tie with Champions League and World Cup winning legends. As we enter the Third Round stage we look back on a game which saw the League One side break Haringey hearts with a 90th minute goal in a 1-0 win. For Haringey, that marked the end of their run, but the beginning of a nearly-story to be told for years. For Wimbledon, they saw off Halifax to book a Third Round tie away at Fleetwood this weekend. Glam.
The BBC will be covering the FA Cup third round across TV, radio and online, including Newport County v Leicester City on Sunday, January 6 (BBC One & BBC iPlayer from 4.30pm) and Wolves v Liverpool on Monday, January 7 (BBC One & BBC iPlayer from 7.45pm).
