On A Plate: Miami – 12 Yachts, 1 Game, adidas Futbol Society and a Floating Celebration of Creative Soccer Culture

This weekend in Miami, SoccerBible, adidas Football, and the adidas Fútbol Society tore up the rulebook, or rather set it adrift – for the latest instalment of On A Plate. In a city defined by sun, soul, and style, we took things to the water. Not metaphorically, but literally.

Twelve yachts. Each one dedicated to an elite adidas club. Real Madrid. Bayern Munich. Al Ahly. Flamengo. Inter Miami. The full roster. From marina to movement, this was a convoy of Creative Soccer Culture – a floating celebration of the global game landing in America for the Club World Cup.

Setting off into the Intercoastal, the boats weren’t just vessels, they were extensions of club identity. Each yacht became its own world: a travelling house party filled with DJs, creators, stylists, designers, photographers, players, and football heads from across the globe - all part of an energy that was pure Miami. Once out on the water, the 12 boats were tied together in formation, like a new kind of football family portrait, surrounded by sea, sound, and sky.

At the centre of it all, a 90ft floating screen mounted on a barge played the opening game of the tournament: Inter Miami vs Al Ahly. A cinematic moment in every sense, watched from the water, with guests swimming, dancing, lounging and living. This wasn’t a fan zone, this was something else entirely. Football, redefined. A viewing party turned lifestyle moment, framed by skyline and soundtrack.

Adding to the visual impact, each of the 12 teams arrived in fresh new adidas jerseys debuted and styled for the first time on the decks of our boats. From Inter Miami’s sleek new strip to bold looks from Bayern, Flamengo, and Benfica, this was a real-time runway for football fashion. Kits weren’t just worn, they were styled up, interpreted, and remixed by the culture around them. It was a chance to see the new wave of adidas design in full motion, not just in the tunnel, but in the world it was made for.

Football legends pulled up too. Marcelo represented Real Madrid, Élber flew the flag for Bayern Munich, and more familiar faces turned the yachts into floating museums of club legacy. It was heritage and new wave meeting face-to-face in the most unexpected, elevated way.

Everything about On A Plate: Miami was bespoke. From custom towels illustrated by @inspector.nuggs to gourmet food delivered via jet skis, no detail was left untouched. It was high-concept hospitality with a football heartbeat. Team kits were worn not just as support, but as statement, styled, layered, and reimagined into expressions of identity. This wasn’t cosplay, it was fashion. The crossover of streetwear and sport, worn loud and proud across every deck.

The 160 guests who joined were the true culture shapers of Miami and beyond. This was a crowd of creators. Music producers, street photographers, stylists, digital artists, designers, filmmakers - the people behind the scenes, now front and centre. adidas Football gave them the perfect stage. A celebration of the game that was as much about where football is headed as where it’s been.

Because this wasn’t just a party. This was a benchmark. A moment that showcased just how far the game has come, and the kind of imagination that happens when football is viewed through the lens of lifestyle, fashion, and creativity. No stadium required.

Big love to adidas for making it happen. Few brands understand the deeper layers of Creative Soccer Culture like they do – not just championing the game but continuously redefining what it can look and feel like.

On A Plate: Miami was football, but not football. And that’s what made it unforgettable. This was a moment that won’t just be remembered… it’ll be referenced.
