The next guest on the SoccerBible Podcast is a true legend of the game. The longest serving captain in Manchester United’s history and with 90 England caps to his name, 65 of those as skipper, Bryan Robson really needs no more introduction than that. All hail Captain Marvel.
The life of Bryan Robson is one to be in awe of; this is a man whom the late great Bobby Robson referred to as one of the best British players he had ever worked with. High praise indeed, but one glance at his achievements in the game shows that it was praise that was indeed well deserved. Now enjoying his role as Global Ambassador for Manchester United, a club for which he enjoys legendary status, as well as promoting his new documentary, 'Robbo: The Bryan Robson Story', which is available to watch now on Amazon Prime, it was a pleasure to get the chance to speak candidly to him, lifting the lid and getting a fresh perspective on one of the greats and his exploits in the game.
Having broken transfer records on course for the very top, the man is someone who has created such an almighty legacy: a star at Manchester United, a hero at West Brom and Middlesbrough, and an icon to so many, it's no surprise that the likes of David Beckham called him his idol. Going the distance and sharing stories from academy coming of age moments, the weird and wonderful advertising campaigns and a career sprinkled with so much start dust, he lets us in on his life, leaving nothing off the table. A true humble hero.

So we went down to Manchester, did this photoshoot all over the place with shirt off and jeans on and all this sort of thing. What I didn’t realise where they were going to put everything, because my agent hadn’t told me. Next minute me and Denise are walking with our Claire, my oldest daughter, and the next minute this bus comes past and I’m splashed on the side of this bus just in a pair of jeans with no shirt on or anything."
