The SoccerBible Podcast Ep. 14: Caroline Weir

On the back of a brace in the Continental League Cup final against Chelsea, we catch up with Manchester City and Scotland’s Caroline Weir for the latest episode of The SoccerBible Podcast.

After a rocky start to the season for Manchester City, the WSL’s perennial runners up (they’ve finished second for the last five years running) have turned things around, and while a title charge is beyond them, they do have third-placed United and a place in next season's Champions League firmly in their sights. They’ve already bagged the Continental League Cup and have romped to a rematch against Chelsea in the FA Women’s Cup, with the final scheduled for 15 May. And key to this turnaround has been the form of free-scoring Scotland international, Caroline Weir.

An Olympian with a pure love for football, we go back to Weir’s roots on the latest episode of The SoccerBible Podcast. A strong voice, a leader and an immensely decorated elite athlete, her candidness is a refreshing reminder of what makes players like her so very unique. From school football parties in Dunfermline to playing at the very top of the game, it’s a an insightful listen from the off.

I think feeling a little bit uncomfortable is a really good place to be – that’s when you know you’re being tested and challenged. Being surrounded by such competitive players, that’s what drives me on and makes me better."
