Umbro and Christopher Raeburn Launch England Inspired Collaboration

Re-inventing archive classics, Umbro have joined forces with leading British fashion designer Christopher Raeburn for a Spring/Summer '18 capsule collection.

The range fully embraces Christopher Raeburn's brand ethos: "REMADE, REDUCED, RECYCLED" and celebrates Umbro's indelible links with English football. The project deconstructs iconic Umbro shirts from 1996 to 2010 and crafts them into a 6-piece range of unique and authentic statement garments. The use of this technique means no single garment is the same, ultimately creating a bespoke collection in time for this summer's unquestioned festival of football.

The unique pieces set the pace for the rest of the collection as the collaboration is a replica of these bespoke remade pieces. Each replica piece is created using sustainable materials such as organic cotton and recycled blends.

Heavy with the nostalgia though entirely fresh, the finished line of products will evoke strong and sentimental memories for England fans. From '96 through to '98; England beating The Netherlands at Wembley and Michael Owen scoring a historic goal against Argentina, each piece of the collection is washed in heavy emotion. Another notable shirt included is that of the famous England 5-1 win over Germany in Munich.

Umbro's red, white, grey and blue England shirts are disassembled and restructured intro crew-neck t-shirts, sweatshirts and shorts emblazoned with oversized player numbers in red, navy and gold. The capsule collection's hero piece, the CR-18 Bomber Jacket, features red and white shirts stitched into contrasting vertical panels with navy and gold numbers finished with a navy collar and cuffs.

A taste making collaboration that brings some serious sizzle to the stadium, the Umbro x Christopher Raeburn capsule collection will be available at Umbro.co.uk and christopherraeburn.co.uk from tomorrow (Thursday 31st May).
