Bringing some international flavour from footwear upwards, Hummel Hive have launched a capsule collection inspired by popping '90s threads. Two pairs of sneakers and one reworked Danish National Team football jersey sees a trinity run riot with retro glory.
In 1992, Denmark made history by winning the European Championships. While they were picking up the prizes on the pitch, it was their keeper kit that turned heads and in fitting fashion now tugs on the heartstrings. With all kinds of nostalgic glory, this capsule is based entirely on that goalkeeper jersey - a neon party piece - and taking the colours, Hummel have washed them across two pairs of sneakers; the 'Marathona 92' and 'Edmonton 92'.
Picking apart each piece of the collection the reworked jersey features yellow details on the collar and sleeves and hummel branding on the front. A printed DBU logo is featured on the chest while front and centre as well as the reverse is the number '1'.
As for the sneakers, the Edmonton 92 pays homage to the jersey once more with its gradient print and adding a printed mesh upper with leather details, this style catches the eye with its bright colours and comes with a colourful print on the insole. Pairing up, the second sneaker, the Marathona 92 is another throwback offering that will look sharp as you crunch current concrete. Rainbow colours are best kept out of the rain and the mesh upper which is complimented with nubuck and leather is brings this towards a tactile masterpiece of footwear design. Sport inspired and style led. Hipster vibes on fleek.
Everything you could dream of from Hummel Hive. A retro shirt with reworked sneakers straight out of Denmark. Perfect for the studio, expect them to line the corridors of graphic design HQs across the continent.
