Steven Gerrard Launches SGG Clothing Line

Player, manager, documentary star… fashionista? Not many would have seen this one coming when the former Liverpool captain hung up his boots, but what we're looking at here is SSG apparel, a signature clothing line from one Steven George Gerrard.

Stevie G certainly hasn’t been sitting around since he stopped playing. In between managing Rangers and launching his own documentary titled ‘Make Us Dream’, which debuted on Amazon recently, Gerrard has been working on another side project of launching his own fashion label, with his debut collection set to drop on November 30.

As well as drawing inspiration from his own style, the 24-piece collection, which includes smart polo shirts and slim fit jumpers, as well as bomber jackets, has been influenced by the style of Liverpool men, with some nods to the history of the city. Continuing this theme, all product style names are based on the street names and areas where Gerrard grew up.

Whilst this collection will understandably appeal more to gentlemen from certain parts of the north-west region, if – and we appreciate it’s a big if – but if you can get past any bias you may have towards the man himself, what you’ll find here are some deep and warm hues that make for a modest and smart feel. Nothing too brash, nothing that Gerrard himself would feel uncomfortable in.

Will he get unlimited amount of stick from his Rangers players? Probably. But it's a sophisticated and wearable start from Gerrard, here. Giving fellow former England captain Mr Beckham a run for his money...
