Paris Saint-Germain throw more streetwear fire into the mix by linking back up with Japanese fashion label Edifice for an Autumn/Winter 2018 capsule collection. The Parisians have been riding high on a wave of hype throughout 2018 to establish themselves as the world's most fashionable and collaborative club.
Following on from special edition partnerships with the Jordan Brand for their Champions League kits, and a collaboration with another Japanese streetwear label in BAPE, PSG have worked relentlessly to transition their brand into premium spaces beyond the traditional football scene, and you'd have to say that it's working. The likes of Mbappe and Neymar are the stylised ringleaders on the pitch, and off it the club are welcoming celebrity after celebrity through the doors of the Parc des Princes – Leonardo di Caprio and Khabib Nurmagomedov the latest to show their faces as PSG beat Liverpool.
This latest collaboration with Edifice sees a number of statement PSG branded clothing pieces for AW18, including knitted jumpers, jackets, tracksuit bottoms, body-warmers, fleeces, hats, bags and ties. A strong look with a style of branding that places the collection firmly away from the typical "replica" category and into genuine streetwear pieces that mix comfortably with lifestyle outfits. Could any other leading football club pull off such a collab? You'd have to say that they probably couldn't. Paris is one of the fashion capitals of the world, and well, they've got that little bit of je ne sais quoi.
Every piece from the upcoming collab between Paris Saint-Germain and Edifice will drop tomorrow (December 6) with pop up shop at Eddy's Nagoya Parco, Edifice Rukua Osaka, being the first to get hold of the limited edition capsule.
