Going behind the scenes of their recent MLS Fashion Show in Los Angeles, adidas have released a short film documenting the process of four creators challenged with transforming MLS jerseys into iconic fashion looks for the "Seams" project.
The four selected stylists were Andrew Andrade, Corey Stokes, Sara Gourlay of Frankie Collective and Pierre Hommes of No Sesso, and each were given three weeks to reimagine a selection of 2019 MLS jerseys before showcasing their work on the runway in LA. Each creator put their own spin on the performance shirts by redesigning them with new cuts and complete re-vamps to create an overall event that challenged, intrigued and inspired. From the sleek and minimal to the crazy.
Determined to prove how each of the adidas designs could be interrupted in a scene away from the pitch the designers went to work while adidas documented the process in the shadows. An eclectic mix of crazy, intriguingly ridiculous, and sharp transformations. Yeah, some cross the line in terms of madness, but there's a whole lot of good in what is a collection that challenges the perception of replica.
