Continuing on with the inspiration behind the design of the club’s third shirt, adidas launch a heritage-infused Manchester United clothing collection for AW19 that’s comprised of a marquee coat, jackets, tees, pants and a cap.
Manchester United’s third shirt for the 2019/20 season features a subtle rose graphic and inscription that pays homage to the kit the club wore when they first lifted the FA Cup 110 years ago, back in 1909. Steeped in history, it’s a design that has now been carried across several lifestyle pieces, with the rose featuring prominently in the collection.
The same rose graphic from the third shirt features throughout the long coat, and the winter essential also carries the same "110 Years – Manchester Rose – 1909-2019” inscription, this time on the right shoulder. The unique rose print, which is understated in grey and black tones, is also carried across to the upper portion of the padded jacket.
The collection continues on from the special UltraBoost x Manchester United "Red Rose”, which was released earlier this year, and a rose logo accompanied by the words “If You Rose From The Streets”, features on the crew neck tee and cap, alongside the United club crest and adidas branding. The full length jacket and pants don’t feature the rose, taking on more of a direct-from-the-training-pitch vibe, while the collection is rounded off by the red long sleeve tee, which features “Manchester United” taping down each sleeve.
