Nike have launched a stylised racing collection to celebrate 25 years of partnership between Inter Milan and kit sponsors Pirelli. The racing tyre company's logo has become synonymous with the blue and black half of Milan since it first appeared on the famous shirts back in 1995, and for many fans that's all they've ever known.
Following the trademark colour combination of the Inter Milan 2019/20 third shirt, the Pirelli Racing Collection is wrapped in black and yellow for a classy aesthetic that merges the worlds of motor racing and football. Rumours have gathered pace recently that Inter Milan and Pirelli are set to end their long-standing partnership at the end of the current season, and if that's true then this collection is the perfect way to salute the loyalty and sign off in style.
A number of key pieces make up the collection, none more so than the NRG Jacket which features the Pirelli logo on the chest along with a minimal Inter Milan club crest, Nike Futura logo and Italian flag on the sleeve as a nod to racing uniforms. While some sponsors, especially in the modern game, hinder a football kit design, Pirelli have enhanced numerous Inter Milan kit designs and have in turn become part of the DNA of the club through three Nike-led decades. That Futura logo and Pirelli branding is a legendary paring for Inter, and one that is quite rightly being frozen in time with this celebratory collection.
