Taking their fantasy football game in a virtual direction, Seoul-based creative studio Nivelcrack have teamed up with EA Sports to release a new kit for FIFA 21, inspired by the dynamic and futuristic city of Seoul.
Operating in that space off the pitch that dominates football cool, Nivelcrack specialise in producing off-centre works that capture the crossover between modern football culture and streetwear. Back in June last year they stepped beyond the realms of fantasy football to pair up with K-League side Seongnam FC, and now they’re once again finding other avenues of connectivity with the game, producing a new kit for EA Sports for FIFA 21.
The kit, modelled by Heechan Hwang, who is an ambassador for FIFA 21 and a South Korean footballer, takes a psychedelic swirl of pinks and blues, with ‘Nivelcrack’ appearing in the sponsor slot, alongside the brand’s club crest. That swirl is carried down onto the socks, with the pattern only broken up by the black socks. And the good news is that the kit is not just restricted to the game, with it being released for retail in April. In addition, Nivelcrack’s clothing collections will also be available to be unlocked in Volta Mode in the game.
The Nivelcrack shirt is available to be unlocked in FIFA 21 Ultimate Team between 26 March and 23 April, with the actual kit dropping on 1 April at Nivelcrack.com.
