Coming together for a mutual love of the game, H&M have partnered with Lover's FC, giving the streetwear label a platform to show off a collection that takes football traditions, blending them with contemporary street style.
Take a glance at the Lover's FC x H&M collection and you’ll instantly notice the influence of ‘90s vintage kits, highlighting Lover's FC founder, Neal Heard’s love of classic football threads. But this collection is about more than just a one-sided love affair with the culture of the beautiful game; it’s about coming together for the love of the game, as well as adding a football twist to this season’s street style look. Lover’s FC x H&M, a collection entirely made of 100% recycled polyester, draws inspiration from the colours and graphics of key footballing nations while also offering fresh ideas for what a team’s kit could be.
The collection represents H&M’s second foray into the crossing of football and fashion, following on from their recent hook up with Hector Bellerin. For the Lover's FC collection there are seven different jerseys, two of which are long-sleeved, all of which play at the point where sportswear, streetwear and fashion meet. The collection is completed with a Lover’s FC team tracksuit, the zip-up jacket cut with wide raglan sleeves for that oversized ‘90s feeling. There’s also a reversible bucket hat, Lover’s FC white socks, and a supporter’s scarf with the slogan “Football without fans is nothing”.
Speaking of the collection, Lover's FC founder, Neal Heard said: “Football and fashion have never been so closely linked, and this collaboration with H&M is a chance to explore their relationship. I first started Lover’s FC as a lover of football shirts, and it’s amazing to share this passion with fans of football and fashion around the world.”
