Ahead of what is surely one of the most anticipated International matches between the home nations since 1996, HANON and Umbro have delved back into the archives of Scotland’s football kits for a double dose of special edition goodness, recreating the iconic 1991/93 away jersey worn during their successful qualification for EURO ’92 in two distinct styles.
Scotland circa ’91-’93 saw a successful qualification campaign for EURO ‘92 when the national side finished top of their group. As a result of this success, the away shirt worn during this period took on something of an iconic status, helped by the fact that the design was an absolute banger, instantly recognisable for its distinctive chest graphic and vibrant colour pops. Now, in a satisfying strike of retro pleasure, HANON have released their own version of the design in conjunction with Umbro.
Initially released in a special grayscale edition dubbed the ‘Carbon ‘92 Pack’, HANON have now released a more traditional take on the Scotland '92 away jersey, bringing back a 1-to-1 colourway of the original garment. Featuring the same abstract pattern and identical pops of rich purple and neon red, HANON have endeavoured to stay true to the original white jersey, but with a slight reworking of the overall block to give a more regular fit. As a result, the top has a drop arm sleeve, ribbed collar, and internal placket with snap button closure. Attention to detail appears by way of a vintage Umbro chest logo, OG labelling, Repli-Kit packaging, whilst a tonal print sublimation is applied as a salute to the jacquard pattern found on the original garment.
The ’92 Away Jersey will be launching at HANON via an ONLINE RAFFLE beginning on Friday 11 June at 12:00BST and end on Friday 18 June at 12:00BST. In addition to the OG-inspired jersey, there will be an exclusive ’92 Jersey Double Pack which will be presented in a bespoke box set and released as a strict limited edition of 50 units.
