Celebrating the bond between the brand and football, adidas SPEZIAL have unveiled their pre-Spring 2022 collection, featuring Kieran Tierney, Hamza Choudhury and Alfie Devine. The drop features a number of military-inspired garments and archive-inspired footwear.
Following up its last appearance on our radar at the end of last year with the collaborative drop with C.P. Company, adidas Spezial return with its latest selection of carefully considered footwear and apparel pieces. Bringing timeless and functional details to the fore through quintessential styles – both new and old – the brand deftly reinterprets military aesthetics and outdoors-y details through its unique lens.
Modelled by Kieran Tierney, Hamza Choudhury, and Alfie Devine the collection is made up of both clothing and footwear. The clothing features a number of military-inspired garments – led by the Barrowland Jacket, and bolstered by the Trongate Jacket. Two tops then pay homage to the brand’s inimitable sportswear heritage and signature design language. The Anderston Top and Pant round out the apparel selection.
The collection’s footwear selection is then made up of six styles across five unique silhouettes. First up, the Moscrop SPZL is a completely reworked shoe inspired by the archival Raider silhouette. Comprising a technical Cordura upper combined with suede accents, the distinctive look stays true to the brand’s hybrid approach. The Winterhill SPZL continues with the seasonal focus as the classic Spezial silhouette is reworked with speckled laces, a technical ripstop upper, suede accents, and an adi-Tex membrane. Next up is the Lothertex SPZL – a technical take on the Lotherton silhouette. The shoe boasts a leather upper, a gusset tongue, and an adi-Tex membrane.
The Carnforth SPZL, meanwhile, is a seasonal take on a leisure shoe. A new hybrid, designed for outdoor-lovers, the silhouette features a full-grain leather upper. Last, but certainly not least, two vibrant colorways of the Barrowland SPZL cap off the footwear offering. A brand new silhouette with a classic terrace flat look, the eye-catching shoes feature fresh suede uppers matched with gum outsoles.
The latest adidas Spezial collection arrives in limited quantities on 3 February and will be available through selected retailers.
