Building on an already established streetwear connection, Juventus have linked up with Mexico-based streetwear fashion label Liberal Youth Ministry for a limited-edition collection, remixing the club’s new 2022/23 adidas away shirt.
The new Juventus away shirt for 22/23 only dropped last week and already the club have set about reworking the design, offering up a contemporary twist for a new limited edition collection. It comes with the help of Mexico-based streetwear fashion label Liberal Youth Ministry, who’ve embedded their signature styles and prints beneath a ripped outer layer, which founder Antonio Zaragoza describes as a “symbol of post-futuristic archaeology.”
Juventus players, including newly resigned Paul Pogba, hit up Dover Street Market Los Angeles to launch the collection that features brightly-coloured prints underneath the dark exterior of the Juve away shirt outer layer, as well as a shirt embellished with Swarovski crystals – something we’ve seen adidas tinker with on the Predator not all that long ago.
“Liberal Youth Ministry and soccer converge in an energy that is difficult to describe: you have to live, sweat, and feel it in every cell of your body,” explained Zaragoza. “For me, a spirit that lights up and transforms is primitive youth.”
The collaboration follows Juventus’s trailblazing collaboration with Palace back in 2019, reasserting the Old Lady’s prime position in the football x streetwear scene.
The Juventus x LYM collection dropped exclusively at Dover Street Market on 23 July.
