Tacchettee Pay Homage To Iconic National Kits With 'Freak 'n' Knit' Collection

While the World’s attention is (for the most part) inevitably on the action on the pitches in Qatar, Italian creative house Tacchettee has decided to look to the past, recreating iconic national team kits for its ‘Freak ’N Knit’ collection.

The last time Tacchettee popped up on our radar was for the ‘Collab Archivio90’ collection, an Italy-infused retro capsule produced in partnership with Umbro back in April. Now the brand pop up again, this time with the ‘Freak ’n' Knit’ collection, which sees the Italians recreating iconic national team shirts as knitted jumpers – just about the perfect for a winter World Cup.

Included in the collection is Germany’s 1994 shirt, available in both white home and green away Argentina 1994 away, France 1982 home, Belgium 1984 away, Holland 1988 home, Japan 1998 home, Mexico 1994 home, Scotland’s cult classic 1993 away, and Cameroon’s sleeveless 2002 home.

It’s not the first time that we’ve seen iconic kits transformed into knitwear, with Lyle & Scott partnering with Lovers FC back in 2020 for their 'Memories are Made’ collection, and even Borussia Dortmund recreating their 93/94 shirt back in 2021. And the Tacchettee ‘Freak ’n' Knit’ capsule continues this trend, offering up a beautifully crafted collection, lovingly made in Italy, but paying tribute to some of the best shirts the world has ever seen.
