Following on from the reveal of the new off-pitch uniforms back in October, AC Milan finally debuted their new prematch suits from Off-White, and there was a nice surprise to the designs that had previously not been seen.
Back in October last year AC Milan and Off-White announced an official Style and Culture partnership, with the streetwear brand providing different off-pitch options for the Rossoneri, depending on the occasion. The club were quick to debut their new Varsity jacket from the collection ahead of their Champions League match with Chelsea, but they’ve only just wornto their new suits for the first time, and it revealed a new detail that was previously unrevealed, with each outfit featuring the players’ numbers on the rear.
Initial promo images of the suits only showed the front, with the red tag that featured the partnership's greater aims looking like the main departure from a traditional design. That was until we saw the rear though, for here was hidden from view a beautifully exuberant final flourish in the form of the players’ numbers, overlaid across three vertical monochrome stripes. The numbers also appeared on the players’ bags, ensuring it was always visible.
Rather than pairing the suits with shirts and ties, as is traditional, they were instead worn over what looked to be red long sleeve performance tees, complete with thumb holes and Off-White branding showing on the centre chest, visible through the jacket opening.
The AC Milan x Off-White suit is currently not available for purchase.
