Celebrating the impending Chinese New Year in a signature style, adidas have provided special edition padded jackets to Arsenal, Juventus, Manchester United and Real Madrid, with the teams debuting them ahead of recent matches.
22 January is the Chinese New Year, and to help usher in the Year of the Rabbit, adidas have produced clothing collections for its premium European teams, as they have done in the past. And the teams have pulled out the Chinese Story Padded Jackets, debuting them either on arrival for matches, or ahead of kick off in place of a traditional anthem jacket.
The jackets and the wider collections feature special calligraphy details, including the team name, which appears on the rear. The club crests have been reimagined in a Japanese-inspired style on all jackets… except Real Madrid, who clearly weren’t down with the idea of messing with their crest. In fact, their jacket is the only one to not really feature any callouts to the celebration, instead just being a sleek blacked out look.
