Turning attention to the Premier League after focusing on their other European teams, adidas have provided Arsenal with a retro Originals clothing collection, featuring the stripped back club logo opposite the Trefoil branding.
In case you’ve been sleeping a lot recently, adidas have been going about the business of stepping into the timeless world of football classics by resurrecting some icons from the archive through their ‘Bring it Back’ campaign. A key part of that’s been providing both its federations and top tier clubs with individual collections under the Originals banner, all signed off with the returning Trefoil logo, and the latest club to enjoy this treatment is Arsenal, who get a complete set featuring hoodies, sweatshirts, tees, the obligatory Beckenbauer tracksuit, and a pair of Gazelles.
The collection is presented in one of the Gunners’ most recognisable alternative strip colour schemes of deep navy with yellow accents, last seen on their 2019/20 third shirt. Alongside the Trefoil branding and the cannon club logo, several items feature a gothic Arsenal slogan on the rear, while the Three Stripes border the tracksuit in emphatic fashion.
Arsenal and adidas’s partnership has already provided numerous off-pitch highlights, as well as several prematch collections, most recent of which was the Ian Wright collection, released to honour the Arsenal legend’s 60th birthday, and worn by both the mens and women’s teams recently. As well as this, the club also wore the latest ‘Love Unites’ prematch jacket ahead of their game against Luton Town, so it could be that they feature the track jacket from this latest collection in the coming weeks, something that’s especially likely if they take a leaf out of manager Mikel Arteta’s book, who wore it for his press conference ahead of the Aston Villa game.
