The world’s of football and art collide once more, and this time its in the Spanish capital as the work of Jean-Michel Basquiat comes together with Atletico Madrid for a remarkable capsule collection.
The expanding and all-encompassing influence of football has crossed the border into the art world many times, and the two cultures merge once again for a new capsule collection that sees Jean-Michel Basquiat's creative world combined with La Liga side, Atletico Madrid. It honourd not only Basquiat's artistic talent but also his city's cultural richness and diversity, as well as his passionate supporters. Ultimately, the collection aims at bridging the gap between art and sport, joining two cultures together in a third – that of fashion.
The Basquiat X Atleti capsule collection features garments that are enhanced with imagery that echo Basquiat's distinctive signature style while featuring the iconic references of the Spanish club. The collection features bomber jackets in red and navy blue, three different styles of T-shirts, sweatshirts, and hoodies in white and navy. All styles incorporate different elements that mix the rebellious artistic spirit of the New York-born artist, such as the Pez Dispenser or the Neptune's trident. This collection also features caps in cream and navy blue.
