F.C. Copenhagen & adidas Originals Drop 90s-Inspired ‘Copenhagen Originals’ Collection

Marking another major milestone in the club’s ongoing development, F.C. Copenhagen and Adidas Originals have revealed their ‘Copenhagen Originals’ collection – inspired by the aesthetics and cultural heritage of 1990s Copenhagen.

Only a select group of clubs get the adidas Originals treatment. It’s the arena reserved for teams that transcend the pitch, for those whose presence stretches into culture, creativity, and identity. And now, F.C. Copenhagen stand firmly among that company with the launch of the ‘Copenhagen Originals’ collection – a 90s-inspired range that reflects the capital’s cultural heritage and signals the rising influence of Scandinavian football in the football x fashion space.

Last year, Copenhagen and adidas delivered one of the standout kits of the season with the bold green 24/25 third shirt, a tribute to the city itself. That drop was a statement. This new move? It’s confirmation.

The collection draws deep from the decade that defined Copenhagen and birthed F.C. Copenhagen in 1992. The era was raw, creative, and unapologetically authentic – a city alive with underground energy and shaping its identity long before the world caught on. Fast forward, and Forbes has already crowned Copenhagen the world’s best place to live in 2025. This is a city that creates and inspires, and FCK are its flag bearers.

Visually, the collection leans on adidas Originals’ iconic trefoil, pairing it with the club’s crest across tracksuits, shirts, and crewnecks, all drenched in that classic Copenhagen navy. Slim white chest stripes and three-stripe detailing lock in the retro cues, while a badge honouring the club’s two parent teams ties past and present together. It’s a perfect blend of 90s streetwear nostalgia and contemporary football culture.

adidas Originals don’t hand this treatment out lightly. We’ve seen it with the likes of Arsenal, Juventus and Real Madrid in recent years, clubs whose cultural cachet sits shoulder to shoulder with their footballing stature. That Copenhagen are now in that conversation is a clear marker of the esteem in which adidas hold them – and, by extension, how Scandinavian football is now shaping the wider game.

As a leading European capital for trends and fashion, Copenhagen is the perfect backdrop for adidas and FCK to shape this movement together,” explains Henrik Hallberg, Director Brand Communications and PR Nordics at adidas. It’s not just words – this partnership is shifting from the pitch to the streets.

Known as Byens Hold – the Team of the City – F.C. Copenhagen embody the capital’s energy and attitude. This collection cements that bond, translating the DNA of a football club into pieces that live just as comfortably on Strøget as they do in Parken Stadium.

Marketing Director Mads Poulsen Jefsen puts it simply: “For our club to have its own adidas Originals line is really special, reflecting Copenhagen’s status as a city of creativity, style, and global influence.

In a game where the line between sport and culture continues to blur, Copenhagen have just stepped into a new realm. The Copenhagen Originals drop is a statement of intent, a cultural collaboration that signals the rise of a city and a club whose influence is only just beginning.
