Manchester United Hit Rewind With New Archive Collection

Manchester United have turned to their rich history for inspiration with the launch of a new Archive capsule collection, celebrating the club’s enduring identity through a modern fashion lens.

Rooted in one of the earliest visual artefacts in United history, the collection draws directly from the design of the club’s first-ever season ticket from the 1905/06 campaign. That original season ticket, a small but powerful symbol of the club’s early days, provides the creative foundation for the collection. Its understated aesthetic and distinctive typography have been translated into contemporary silhouettes, creating a bridge between Manchester United’s formative years and the present day.

The Archive collection is comprehensive yet refined, featuring a full tracksuit alongside hoodies, T-shirts and sweatshirts designed for everyday wear. It also includes a plaid overshirt and a coaches jacket, adding structure and versatility to the range. Across all pieces, the unifying detail is a retro embroidered crest, formed from a stylised version of the club’s initials. This pared-back emblem offers a nostalgic alternative to the modern crest, subtly reinforcing the collection’s historical direction.

Campaign imagery for the launch brings that sense of heritage to life by quite literally stepping back into the club’s past. First-team players Harry Maguire, Lisandro Martínez, Joshua Zirkzee, Patrick Dorgu and Tom Heaton are pictured heading into the “archive”, surrounded by moments and memories that define Manchester United’s story. Rather than recreating history, the production leaned on authenticity; the club’s museum team worked closely with creatives to incorporate genuine artefacts into the shoot.

The Manchester United Archive collection ultimately reflects the club’s ability to honour its heritage while remaining current. By resurrecting a design rooted in 1905/06 and reinterpreting it through modern sportswear and casual fashion, United have created a range that speaks both to lifelong supporters and a new generation discovering the club’s story through style.
