As football weaves its way through sub-cultures with an infectiously creative soul, fashion and photography are two elements that find themselves ever present. A collaboration for SoccerBible Magazine Issue 5, we teamed up with photographer Matt Stansfield to showcase a series of inspired looks that cut a clean style ― the contemporary casual.
Exploring a range of looks that take in brands from adidas SPEZIAL through to and Fred Perry with pops of Le Coq Sportif along the way, this lookbook created exclusivley for SoccerBible Magazine Issue 5 takes in Manchester sights. A pilgrimage of football, it's only right a hot bed for the game and cultural carnival collide for this fashion led showcase.
A right of passage that travels well dressed, the culture of football away from the pitch is a dish that is served in diverse measures. The 'away day' a regular occurrence for the connoisseur, this trip takes in sights with spirit. 'Tony's Stadium Chippy' is a location just outside Manchester City's Etihad Stadium while the emerald tiles of the 'Peveril of the Peak' is notably a favourite of Eric Cantona.
With the likes of Stone Island, Pretty Green and Lyle & Scott occupying space among the brands of choice it's a creative environment for the fashion conscious to explore. For us, it's one that went from pre-match pint to post match pool as Issue 5 became home to those 'Makers & Creators' in the game.
Championing the heritage of football culture, big thanks go to Matt Stansfield. You can see more of his work here.
