Now bear with us here a minute… Yes, these are chairs. But they’re chairs that have been created for SOPHNET by Darren Romanelli in collaboration with Modernise, and they bring together vintage FC Real Bristol and Nike styling for a truly unique collection, titled ‘The Case Study’.
The collection ties in with SOPHNET’s attempts to create an offshoot fashion-focused lifestyle line, known as ‘SOPH. For The Room’. Through this the Japanese label have released various home accessories and interior goods over the past few years, and this collection offers a vintage vibe for FC Real Bristol that’ll look just perfect in yer lounge. And who doesn’t like sitting down, right?
The DRx Romanelli label has worked with both SOPHNET and Modernica in the past, and now the three come together for this 20-piece collection that features retro Nike logos combined with some vintage FCRB football jersey materials. All chairs utilise Eiffel-styled legs and use a base fibreglass mould, with no two chairs being the same. Could be why they come with such a hefty price tag. Yep, if you fancy parking your rear in one of these then it’ll set you back ¥150,000 JPY. That’s the wrong side of a grand in old English money. Yes, other cheaper places to sit down are regularly available, but they're nice these aren't they?
You can pick up the chairs at SOPH.net on 11 March. Ya know, if you're really into your chairs and that...
