Preparing for life in the new abnormal, Sunst Studio are releasing a weekly edition of INTERHOOD-approved face masks, made from a unique composite of Nike jersey offcuts. Nothing has gone to waste – this is upcycling, the Sunst way.
As we brace ourselves for life after lockdown, creative entity Sunst Studio have put their talents and excess fabrics to good use, creating series of face masks made from a unique composite of Nike jersey offcuts. The reconstituted material upcycles unused sportswear into a unique new design. Each fitted mask is made from two layers of dri-FIT Nike fabric – a high-performance microfiber that’s designed to take the moisture from your breath and make it evaporate on the surface of the material.
Cut, stitched and packaged in Berlin, these boundary-pushing face masks have been made in collaboration with Church of the Hand, creators of spiritual workwear. Sunst collaborates with partners from the local neighbourhood and for every mask sold €5 will be donated to support the community.
Measuring 24 x 12 cm with adjustable straps and additional string ties, every mask is unique and is optimised for use on public transport with anti-facial recognition technology. They also come presented in an exclusive jersey bag.
