Introducing the latest member of the Nike Air Max family. The Air Max 1 Ultra Moire lands as a Spring 2015 addition that features a fresh silhouette and a completely new outsole.
The Air Max was invented 27 years ago by Nike designer extraordinaire Tinker Hatfield. Hatfield took Nike Air technology and made it visible to create the world's first Air Max a concept that kick-started a culture and is still reigning supreme three decades later.
The updated outsole uses less material than the original that results in dramatically improved flexibility and reduced weight. On top of the outsole sits a synthetic suede, laser-perforated, one-piece upper inspired by the Nike Air Zoom Moire + from 2006, the first Nike+ enabled shoe.
The Nike Air Max 1 Ultra Moire will be the first of Nike's freshly-minted "Sneaker of the Week" program, which highlights one Nike Sportswear shoe a week. It will be available at select Nike Sportswear retailers beginning Jan 8.
