Nike To Launch Free Run Hypervenom II

Building on the success of the current Free Hypervenom silhouette, Nike will release an updated take on their football boot inspired sneaker outfit this July.

Football inspired streetwear is moving fast and Nike are in the driving seat. Having already had huge success with the Free Mercurial Superfly and Magista Footscape, attention now turns to remixing their newest football silo - the Hypervenom II - for the streets. Previewed at last week's 'Pitch to Pavement' exhibition at Overkill Berlin, the new low-cut Nike Free Run Hypervenom II will drop this July and boast newly incorporated Flywire technology, an all-black upper and a Free 3.0 sole unit for low-profile cushioning and flexibility. There's no word yet on whether we'll see a mid-cut version of the shoe.

Speaking on the shoe, Arnault Tungay - Footwear Product Director Nike Sportswear - explained, "The Nike Free Run Hypervenom II is going to be launched in July. If Neymar was the muse for the Hypervenom II, we're talking about a player who has the need to make quick moves in small spaces. So for the Free Run Hypervenom II we began by looking at our 'Free' technology. Having said that, we wanted to take a 360 degree sort of approach in terms of comfort, so we used this unique material that stretches and adapts to your movement - something that's inherently inspired by the first Nike Hypervenom Phantom. The Free Run Hypervenom II has some extra support with the adapted Flywire technology which gives you a direct link to the performance football boot."

Stay tuned for more release info on the Nike Free Hypervenom 2.
