Earlier this month, Gosha Rubchinsky presented us with a mouth watering taste of what his collaboration with adidas looks like. A flavoursome game changer for football inspired streetwear as we know it, his offering comes deep in treasure and it is from the very tip of the toe to the heart and sole that his midas touch has blessed a skin more accustomed to the ACE 16+ Purecontrol. Fam, let us introduce the ACE 16+ SUPER.
Those paying close attention will have caught a glimpse of these maverick ground shakers as they strutted the cat walk a couple of weeks back. The Gosha Rubchinskiy Fall/Winter 17 crashed in turning heads by the pitch-load as his three striped collection landed and since then, well, life just hasn't been the same. Somewhat of a revolution in the way his line has brought streetwear to a football scene, we'd call it subtle, minimalist and utterly thought provoking. The shape of the ACE 16+ SUPER is testament in the way it champions a case of same, same but supremely different.
A Primeknit upper that was debuted in three colours: Tonal Red, Black and White, the three stripes have a heavy presence and are presented in a thick and power evoking form. Add to that the classic gum outsole that very much makes itself known and you have this new hybrid of heritage and new that truly moves us in to a new chapter of style. The sole is reminiscent of a classic Samba which, naturally has solid roots in terrace fashion while the upper is symbolic to all that is contemporary and innovative about the adidas focus on football right now. Old inspiring new, inspiring fresh, inspiring the future. Delicious must-haves.
Expected to be released later this year, we have Berlin-based Voo Store to thank for the images. Take a look at the Gosha Rubchinskiy Fall/Winter 17 adidas collaboration here.
