The adidas x Gosha Rubchinskiy Nemeziz Mid has taken what was launched as an ultra-modern high-performance football boot and transformed it into a mid-collared lifestyle shoe with a design influenced by the former capital of Russia, Saint Petersburg.
Gosha Rubchinskiy has challenged the boundaries of football in fashion, taking performance product and spinning it into alternative circles of lifestyle. The GR Nemeziz Mid offered Gosha a unique canvas, and he's grasped that by throwing Russian print across the trademark AgilityBandages and TorsionTapes of the laceless upper, while adding a heightened collar to change the dynamic of the silhouette.
The Gosha Rubchinskiy x adidas SS18 range takes inspiration from Saint Petersburg's vibrant electronic music scene, which crossed over from Germany after the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989. One look at the full collection and that rave culture theme begins to make more sense.
