Nike have revealed an official launch date for the upcoming Air Max 97 LX "Metallic" covered in Swarovski crystals. Rounding off 2018 with the most premium of limited edition tricks, the Swoosh have lined that iconic R9 Mercurial inspired striped pattern with golden game and a jewelled topping.
The Swarovski x Nike Air Max 97 LX "Metallic Gold" is a high-brow take on the original colourway that sees the sneaker modified with crystal fabric to deliver that shimmering effect. As with the original, the Swarovski version features red Swooshes and a white midsole, but quite clearly it'll about that crystal creativity and statement elegance.
This isn't the first time Nike have sprinkled thousands of Swarovski crystals over the Air Max 97. In September 2017 the Swoosh dropped a two-pack of silver and black colourways in the same style as this "Metallic Gold" update. Ah yeah, that date; we're all set for a December 26 launch with the time TBC. Call it Unboxing Day if you must. The price? $400. Nothing covered in crystals comes cheap.
