adidas Originals have turned on the special edition style to create a Manchester United themed UltraBoost sneaker as a nod to one of the club's earliest trophy successes. The "Red Rose" drop celebrates 110 years since the United won their very first FA Cup.
The first of the club's twelve FA Cups was lifted in 1909 when they beat Bristol City thanks to a solitary Sandy Turnbull goal, a man who made 220 appearances for the Red Devils before dying in battle during the First World War ahead 32. A thankfully unthinkable situation in this modern day. The kit which Turnbull wore in that final features a red rose and that's where the inspiration has come from for the UltraBoost sneaker.
The Manchester United Ultraboost uses the red Lancashire rose on the tongues, with complementing detailing on the insoles which also host the adidas performance logo and club crest. Special wording on the trademark UltraBoost cage completes the United references, which all sit on top of the black canvas of one of the most popular adidas UltraBoost silhouettes.
The Manchester United adidas UltraBoost "Red Rose" drops on July 25.
