New Balance launch the latest in their football club-inspired sneaker collection, with the special edition Athletic Bilbao 1500, which adopts the deep Basque green of the region’s flag and of the club’s 2019/20 away shirt.
Following special edition releases for Liverpool and Celtic over the last few seasons, New Balance have now turned their attention to their Spanish contingent, with the launch of the Athletic Bilbao 1500 shoe. While the sneaker is made in the UK, the influence behind the shoe is obvious, with the Basque green colour acting as a nod to the region’s flag and to the new Athletic Bilbao 2019/20 away jersey.
The Made in UK 1500 trainer sees a combined suede, premium leather and mesh upper riding on an ENCAP midsole, which provides support and maximum durability. The core Basque green is combined with brown, white and red detailing, while the club crest is restricted to an internal appearance on the innersole. Only 200 pairs of the limited-edition trainer are being released and they're only being sold in New Balance stores located in the Iberian Peninsula, so if you fancy a pair you best be hot footing it to Spain.
The limited-edition Made in UK 1500 Trainer will be available to purchase from 20 September 2019.
