Continuing its connection with German football clubs through its footwear, adidas link up with Union Berlin for a ZX8000, limited to 1,966 pairs as a nod to the club's founding year.
Once again proving that its collaboration game is strong, and with a focus on a sneaker that is making waves at present, adidas Originals has linked up with Bundesliga side Union Berlin for a special edition design of the ZX 8000 sneaker, limited to 1966 pairs to match the founding year of the Bundesliga club.
The design of the ZX 8000 ‘Union Berlin’ is made up of the club’s red, white and yellow colours, while it is littered with nice little nods to not only the club, but the city of Berlin itself. First up there’s the acknowledgment of the An der Alten Försterei stadium, which can be found throughout, primarily in the deep reds and yellows that dress the stripes as well as from the vamp up. Yellowed soles, then, finish below, and the Union Berlin green finds its place along the lining, while additional design details include a club branded lace tag and insole. The bold “Union” text is then printed on the heels for a nice sign off..
Fancy a pair? Yeah, these flew off the shelves. Soz.
