Nike & Inter Milan Reveal Exclusive Air Max 97

Following on from their 2020/21 Air Force 1 collaboration, Inter Milan and Nike have revealed a limited edition Air Max 97, decorated in the iconic blue and black shades synonymous with the European giants.

Having dabbled with some in-house streetwear of late, Inter Milan once again partner with their technical sponsor, Nike, this time for an exclusive Nike Air Max 97 in Inter’s colours. Selected as the Air Max of choice because of its cult-like following in Italy, the Air Max 97 takes the stripes from Inter's home kit and brings it to the bullet train-inspired sneaker. The shoes were worn by a number of Inter players as they arrived at the San Siro ahead of their 3-1 against Lazio.

It’s not the first time Inter have had a special version of the Air Max created for them in colours inspired by they club and their iconic kits, with the last time coming back in the 2020/21 season, as part of Nike’s Air Max-inspired UCL third shirts.

The iconic nature of the Air Max 97 ‘Nerazzurri’ was boosted further by a photo shoot involving first-team players Nicolò Barella, Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez as well as Inter Women’s Flaminia Simonetti, Marta Pandini and Chiara Robustellini. The images took inspiration from the in-fashion style in the 1990s and 2000s, both in terms of outfits and analogue photography.

200 pairs of the limited-edition “Friends&Family” version of the shoe have been produced, complete with dedicated packaging, the Inter crest sewn on the tongue and internal personalisation for ambassadors of both brands.

The Nike x Inter Air Max 97 is available now at nike.com.
