Arriving as the perfect off-pitch partner to Messi’s signature ‘Triunfo Dorado’ F50, adidas have also released a signature Samba to go with it, presented in a regal black and gold look.
Lionel Messi is no stranger to the odd signature edition boot here and there, but signature sneakers have not been as regular in their appearances over the years. But adidas have been leaning into them a lot this year, with the ever-popular Samba often being the silhouette of choice for the Messi logo to appear on. And sure enough, with the launch of the new F50 ‘Triunfo Dorado’ for Messi, there’s also a signature Samba dropping to complement the launch.
The adidas Originals Samba x Messi comes in a “Core Black/Metallic Gold/Gum 4” colourway, with black taking up the primary role and base colour. The look is a bit of an inversion of the ‘Triunfo Dorado’ F50 in that gold is then the accent, where its the primary colour of the boot. It features on the Three Stripes branding and “Samba” wording, through the heel, and then on the Messi logo, which sits on the tongue. Suede overlays on the forefoot provide a classic feel and look to the shoe.
While Messi will be wearing the ‘Triunfo Dorado’ F50 on Friday night as Argentina get their Copa America title defence underway against Peru, there’s no word on whether he will wear these sneakers at any point. First to spot him in them wins…
