Football Talk - Inter Milan plan summer spending spree - 18/03/09
Inter technical director Marco Branca has confirmed the club are planning to spend heavily in the summer to make the reigning Italian champions 'even more competitive'.
Reports have suggested that manager Jose Mourinho is plotting a £100million raid on the Premier League, with Manchester United's star defender Nemanja Vidic thought to be his most-wanted man.
Tottenham's Jermaine Jenas could also be the subject of renewed offer following rumours that the former Chelsea boss failed in a January approach for the England midfielder, while Mourinho has frequently been linked with a move for Chelsea striker Didier Drogba.
Branca claims that targets have yet to be identified, but he has confirmed transfer strategy talks are planned as Inter - who again failed to live up to expectations in the UEFA Champions League this season - are keen to reinforce.
"There are no shortlists, but we want to make this Inter even more competitive," he told La Gazzetta dello Sport. "We will sit around a table and decide what we need to do to improve our squad. President Massimo Moratti has already made a lot of sacrifices and we will try to make things even better."
