ALONSO ATTRACTING ATTENTION?

- Chelsea and Manchester City have joined the hunt to sign Liverpool's Spanish midfielder Xabi Alonso, because his proposed £35million move to Real Madrid is stalling. (Daily Mail)

SHEVCHENKO TO LEAVE?

- Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti expects Ukrainian striker Andriy Shevchenko to leave the club before the start of the 2009-2010 campaign with Dynamo Kiev and Fenerbache interested. Shevchenko was on loan at AC Milan last season with Ancelotti who used him very sparingly. (The Guardian)
