Football Stats - Premier League Top Goalscorer - 15/09/09
We're only a few weeks into the 2009/10 Premier League football season, and already the football boot heavyweights are making their presence known!
Our exclusive SoccerBible statistics generate boot stats throughout the Premier League season, to show how the various football boots are performing. Goals have been flying in left, right and centre, but the SoccerBible has recorded them all, and can tell you the football boots causing the damage! As you can see the Nike Mercurial Vapor range has currently scored the most goals in the Premier League with a total of 29 strikes finding the back of the net. Closely following the Vapor range are the adidas Predator football boots, which can boast 22 goals after just five rounds of Premier League matches. |
If we take a look at the brands in general, we can see Nike football boots are the early pace setters with a total of 55 goals. This means Nike football boots are averaging 11 goals per weekend, an impressive stat indeed, but there is plenty of time for the competing brands to make their impression.
Looking closely at how the individual boots have been performing, we'd expect to see the Vapor and Predator leading the way because of their majority share of players in the Premier League. But it's good to see the Puma v1 range and the new Umbro Speciali football boots getting in on the action.
The top goalscorers chart tells a slightly different story to the overall stats. Because the players catching the headlines and leading the charts are Jermain Defoe and Emmanuel Adebayor wearing the new adidas F50i football boots, along with Wayne Rooney flourishing in front of goal in Ronaldo's absence and wearing Nike T90 Laser II football boots.
Be sure to stay tuned to the SoccerBible's statistics page, as we assess throughout the season how different football boots and players are performing, plus finding out which brands are winning in the goalscoring charts...
