Cristiano Ronaldo scored and was sent off for Real Madrid, Inter Milan were beaten by Juventus, the top two teams in Germany drew whilst the top two in Scotland both won, whilst Lyon are now four games without a win in France.
Real Madrid returned to winning ways but remain five points behind leaders Barcelona. Real were 4-2 winners against Almeria, in a game that saw Cristiano Ronaldo score but also get sent off. Barcelona left their victory against Deportivo La Coruna till late, but had Lionel Messi and Zlatan Ibrahimovic to thank.

Werder Bremen drew with Cologne, and therefore failed to capitalise on Bayer Leverkusen's 0-0 draw with Hannover 96. This gave the chasing teams the chance to catch-up, and Schalke capitalised by defeating Hertha Berlin 2-0, and Bayern Munich also did by defeating Borussia Monchengladbach 2-1, with midfielder Badstuber on the scoresheet.

Table-toppers Inter Milan suffered their first loss in nine games as Juventus claimed a 2-1 success thanks to goals from Felipe Melo and Claudio Marchisio. Which meant AC Milan moved to within four points of their rivals after their 3-0 win over Sampdoria. Elsewhere, Roma defeated Lazio 1-0 in the Derby della Capitale.

Rangers got back on track with a routine 3-1 victory over Falkirk, thanks to two goals from Kris Boyd. Although leaders Celtic were also victorious after beating 10-man Aberdeen 3-0, Hibernian defeated Motherwell and Hamilton overcame Hearts 2-1 in a heated game that included two sendings off and a tunnel bust-up!

Lyon's poor form continued after they slumped to a 4-3 loss at Lille to leave them fourth in the standings, thanks to an injury time winner from Gervinho. Bordeaux remain top after they beat PSG, and Montpellier are four points behind the leaders following their 2-1 defeat of 10-man Le Mans. Star Player - Gervinho
