Football Boots Boot Spotting
This weekend we were spoilt with a host of new football boots taking to pitches around the globe! There seemed to be brand new football boots everywhere you turned - from Australia to Germany, and Italy to England, our SoccerBible boot spotters were on hand to catch the best of the action...
WAYNE ROONEY (Manchester United) Wayne Rooney is the top Nike Laser player in the country with 26 Premier League goals to his name, and since wearing the Laser III football boots Rooney has been in awesome form! Rooney proved just the man to debut the new Neptune Blue colourway, as he duly delivered the boots first goal following up his penalty shot. |
RODRIGO VARGAS(Melbourne Victory)
Playing for Melbourne Victory in the A-League grand final, Rodrigo Vargas was probably the first player in the world to competitively wear the Neptune Blue T90 Laser III football boots. Vargas was desperately unlucky, as he was in great form and had two goals disallowed. |
PATRICK HELMES (Bayer Leverkusen)
German international striker Helmes combined his new Neptune Blue Lasers with Nike (RED) laces, for a great looking boot that really made an impression on the pitch. Unfortunately, Helmes was unable to find the back of the net against Dortmund, but then perhaps it would have helped if he'd tied his laces! |
|
WESLEY SNEIJDER (Inter Milan)
Sneijder is one of the T90's star players as the midfielder has great technical ability, and as Chelsea found out recently he certainly has an eye for a pass. Sneijder was wearing the Neptune Blue's for the first time as Inter continued their pursuit of the Serie A title, although they were unable to get past Palermo drawing 1-1. |
JEREMY CLEMENT (Paris St Germain)
Jeremy Clement is currently playing for PSG, however, the once great club side find themselves struggling in 12th position in Ligue 1. But that doesn't mean you can't look good when you walk into the pitch, and the red and white of PSG's away kit really made Clement's boots stand out. |
NANI (Manchester United)
Tricky winger Nani had previously worn Vapor IV and Vapor V football boots, so we were relying on the Portuguese international to debut the new Vapor VI football boots. The Vapor VI is the next generation in the Mercurial speed range, and much to Nani's delight Nike have kept the lace-cover, whilst also increasing sole-plate traction. |
GREGORY ARNOLIN (Sporting Gijon)
You would have expected Cristiano Ronaldo to be wearing the brand new Superfly II football boots in the match between Real Madrid and Sporting Gijon. Instead it was central defender Gregory Arnolin who wore Nike's top of the range speed boot, with a soft ground sole-plate. |
PAULO FERREIRA (Chelsea)
It was a rare outing for Chelsea full-back Paulo Ferreira, who tried to make the most of the occasion by wearing his new Vapor VI football boots. With a re-designed sole-plate the Vapor VI football boots, are the ideal boot to get up and down the touchline.

ZLATAN IBRAHIMOVIC (Barcelona)
|
FABRIZIO MICCOLI (Palermo) The Superfly II football boots are the perfect boot for Palermo captain Miccoli, who wore them for the first time as his side drew 1-1 with Inter Milan. As a short player with a low centre of gravity, Miccoli will benefit from the new stud system will be particularly responsive to his twists and turns. |
RAFAEL VAN DER VAART (Real Madrid)
Rafael van der Vaart hit the back of the net wearing the new Team Red CTR360 colourway. Van der Vaart switched to the Nike CTR360 Maestri football boots when they were released earlier in the season, and as an attacking midfield player benefits from the ball control technology. |
VALON BEHRAMI (West Ham)
Behrami chose to debut his Team Red Nike CTR360 football boot's against Arsenal, and even wore Nike (RED) laces. We can imagine the new red colourway will be a good match for the West Ham home kit. |
|
NICK WARD (Melbourne Victory)
Nick Ward played in the A-League grand final wearing the new Nike CTR360 colourway, unfortunately Ward was on the losing side as Melbourne Victory were defeated by Sydney FC. |
|
PATRICE EVRA (Manchester United)
It was an assured performance from Patrice Evra at left-back, as Liverpool were unable to create many real chances's as United powered to victory. Evra, along with team-mate Rio Ferdinand, was debuting the new black leather T90 Laser III football boots. And Evra, like Torres and Ferdinand prefers a leather upper unlike Rooney.

RYAN GIGGS (Manchester United)
A player such as Ryan Giggs deserves a prestigious pair of football boots, the Manchester United legend has many great achievements in football, which has been acknowledged by Reebok. These Reebok RG800 football boots are in a very classy gold and brown colourway, and commemorate the fact that Giggs has played over 800 games for United.

STILIAN PETROV (Aston Villa)
Petrov seems unsettled at the moment over which football boots to wear, the Aston Villa captain has been wearing adidas Predator boots and the new adiPures. So we were particularly surprised to see the midfielder wearing the new Umbro Stealth boot, but we'll be interested to see how he rates the boot and if he sticks with them.

ROQUE SANTA CRUZ (Manchester City)
Santa Cruz is wearing the new Mizuno Wave Ignitus football boots, a brand new range from Mizuno. These new boots are a stunning yellow colourway with bespoke technology, and Santa Cruz gave them a good outing as he scored City's first goal against Fulham.
