Football Boots Spotting

Football Boots Spotting

On the final day of a fantastic Premier League season, our ever-increasing army of boot-spotters were on hand to report back with their most interesting boot spots. This week we've got a mix of new and old boots, along with some customised boots and a nice surprise from Russia...

Luka Modric (Tottenham)
Nike Vapor Superfly I

Robin Van Persie (Arsenal)
  adidas Predator X

Luka Modric must be frustrating Nike, as they've tried all season to get him into new boots, then right at the end of the season in consecutive games he changes his boots! Modric was playing in the yellow Superfly I football boots against Burnley, and to be fair he struck a great goal!

We noticed two differences about Robin Van Persie's adidas Predator X football boots. Firstly, Van Persie has asked for the PowerSwerve sole-plates, and secondly, we noticed he has gone for a tongue rather than a wrap around collar.

Didier Drogba (Chelsea)
        Nike Vapor Superfly I

Wade Elliot (Burnley)
        adidas adiPure I

We just had to feature Golden Boot winner Didier Drogba, who has been in scintillating form this season. The powerful striker has stuck with his Superfly I football boots despite the launch of the Superfly II, and has continued to promote the Nike RED campaign.

Another player preferring to stick with his old football boots is Wade Elliot. The Burnley player was sporting a pair of blue adiPure I football boots, a popular choice amongst adiPure fans, and proving they can still perform after scoring against Spurs.

George Elokobi (Wolves)
Umbro Stealth Pro

Alessandro Diamanti (West Ham)
  Nike Tiempo Legend II

Elokobi is just one of a number of players switching into Umbro's new Stealth Pro football boots. One of the most recent boot ranges on the market, the Stealth Pro is Umbro's speed boot. We also couldn't help but notice Ebanks-Blake's blaze T90 Laser II's.

In our opinion black and volt is a classic colourway, that looks good no matter what the boot or the brand. And these Legend II football boots were an interesting choice from Diamanti, who has worn Nike CTR360 football boots fort he majority of the season.

Jack Cork (Burnley)
  Puma Powercat 1.10

Darren Bent (Sunderland)
  Umbro Speciali

Youngster Jack Cork missed out on the celebrations at Stamford Bridge, after spending the season on loan at Burnley. But the former Puma King wearer, will be pleased to have scored his first Premier League goal, wearing the Puma PowerCat football boots.

A very subtle and classy change from Darren Bent, who has been wearing the white/black Umbro Speciali football boots with the Sunderland away kit. The Speciali's have proven a great choice for Darren Bent this season, who netted an impressive 24 Premier League goals.

Oleksandr Aliyev (Lokomotiv)
  Nike Vapor IV

We wandered whether Oleksandr Aliyev has taken a sneaky look at the SoccerBible Global Gallery for his boot inspiration! We were tipped off by a SoccerBible fan that the Russian midfielder had been sporting a pair of citron Vapors with RED laces, and we have to say with the kit and pitch colour combination, Aliyev's boots look great!
