Congratulations to Chelsea who won the Premier League title in style, following an emphatic 8-0 victory over Wigan! Chelsea have been in simple irresistable form this season, and are worthy Premier League Champions. Commiserations go to Manchester United who, despite a brave 4-0 victory over Stoke, finish second by just one point.
Chelsea romped to victory over Wigan in a completely one-sided contest, and the accolades poured in for Ancelotti's men who also broke the Premier League record for goal's scored in a season, smashing the 100 goals mark. There was further joy for Didier Drogba who claimed the Golden Boot ahead of Wayne Rooney, courtesy of a second half hat-trick taking his tally to 29 Premier League goal's for the season.
Consolation for Wayne Rooney and Manchester United came from a well deserved 4-0 victory over Stoke City, despite the destiny of the title being out of their hands. And although Wayne Rooney may have missed out on the Golden Boot, he was able to collect his Player of the Season award, after an inspirational year for Manchester United.
