Midweek Football Boots Spotting 22/10/10
Our resident Boot Spotters have been scouring the pitches around the globe this week to bring us some great boot spots, including some brand new adidas and Puma football boots, along with a host of customised, unique and retro boots on show...
Manuel Arbeloda (Lech Poznan) adidas F50 adizero |
A custom pair of adidas F50 adizero football boots on show at Eastlands, and no they weren't worn by Emmanuel Adebayor! Lech Poznan defender Arbeloda was wearing a bespoke pair of adizero' featuring a classic black and white colourway. |
Marcelo (Real Madrid) Nike Vapor Superfly II |
For some reason Marcelo has removed the laces from his cactus green Superfly football boots, and threaded them into his original violet colourway. One theory we've got at the moment, is that the green is linked to the national colours of Brazil, that or he just felt like doing it! |
Slawomir Peszko (Lech Poznan) Puma v1.10 |
It looks like some brand new football boots on show here, as Lech Poznan's Peszko seemed to be debuting a new colourway for the Puma v1.10 range. So stay tuned to the SoccerBible for more info and exclusive images. |
Olexiy Gai (Shakhtar Donetsk) adidas adiCore III |
It's not often you spot a player wearing a take-down boot, the last we can remember is Dave Ktison of Stoke in some Mercurial Talaria football boots. But for some reason, Shakhtar midfielder Olexiy Gai was in a pair of adidas adiCore football boots. |
Omri Kende (Hapoel Tel Aviv) Umbro? |
Another random boot spot here, to test the knowledge of the SoccerBible users! Hapoel Tel Aviv's defender Omri Kende was sporting a bespoke pair of Umbro football boots, so full credit to the SoccerBible users who can name the boot range. |
Iker Casillas (Real Madrid) Reebok Instante II Pro |
A boot range that seems to have fallen off the radar, as Casillas is the only player we've spotted wearing the Instante II Pro football boots. Thierry Henry did wear them once, but is now back in his preferred Instante I's. |
Jesper Gronkjaer (FC Copenhagen) adidas Predator Pulse |
An old favourite was on show at the Camp Nou in the Champions League, and although we could be talking about Jesper Gronkjaer, we actually mean the adidas Predator Pulse football boots he was wearing, a boot first released in 2004. |
Florent Malouda (Chelsea) Nike CTR360 Maestri |
Florent Malouda was sporting an all-ground sole-plate designed specifically for astro-truf and 3G pitches on his Nike CTR360 Maestri football boots this week, as Chelsea competed on an articficial pitch in Russia in the Champions League. |
Sergey Kuznetsov (Karpaty) Mizuno Morelia |
The first of a few Mizuno Morelia boot spots around Europe, although Kuznetsov's are without doubt the most eye-catching. We don't recall this yellow colourway going on general release, but they're definitely a great addition to the collection. |
Julio Cesar (Inter Milan) Mzuno Morelia |
Despite being a Nike endorsed player and playing for a Nike sponsored club, Julio Cesar is sticking with his trusted Mizuno Morelia football boots, which he has customised by removing the branding from the boot to keep his Nike friends happy. |
Semir Stilic (Lech Poznan) adidas adiPure I |
A classic pair of adidas adiPure I football boots on show here, from Lech Poznan midfielder Semir Stilic. And of all the colourways the first adiPure's were released in, these were probably the most eye-catching. |
Vederson (Bursaspor) Mizuno Morelia |
Another testament to the performance and popularity of the Mizuno Morelia football boots, especially amongst South American players, as Bursaspor's Brazilian defender Vederson was sporting a blacked-out pair, although we did notice he also wore adidas Predator's in the same game. |
Joe Rokocoko (New Zealand) adidas Predator RX |
Okay so we know the ball may be the wrong shape, but this is still a great spot of a collection of some good looking adidas Predator boots. Unfortunately for the die-hard football fans, these are the Predator RX versions, but we have to admit we'd be tempted to purchase a pair! |
