It seems even football hasn't escaped the global domination of Facebook, but who are the most popular players with the greatest following and which players need more fans!

We've picked five of our favourite player pages for current stars, and five pages from retro players who've gained a cult following on the 'book, but don't quite have the same popularity as their modern counterparts!

Interestingly, we couldn't find a page for the player you'd think would challenge Cristiano's superiority - Lionel Messi. But after scouring Facebook for today's most popular players, we thought we'd have a bit of fun and check out the popularity of some of our favourite players from yesteryear...
