Football Boots Spotting - 09/11/10
Whilst most eyes were trained on Cristiano's boots this weekend, our resident Boot Spotters managed to tear themselves away from the Bernabeu to bring us a host of great spots from around the globe...
Diego Milito (Inter Milan) adidas F50 adiZero |
It looks like adidas can add another name to their growing list of adiZero wearers. Diego Milito made the switch at the weekend from his usual adiPure football boots to a mixed sole plate version of the leather Chameleon adiZero boots. |
Marcelo (Real Madrid) Nike Mercurial Vapor Superfly II |
There was no doubt that Cristiano Ronaldo stole the boots spotlight in the Madrid derby with his Safari boots debut. His Madrid team mate though is still sporting the original Superfly II colorway. Interestingly he had some customised yellow laces along with a Brazil flag on the inside of the boot. |
Dimitri Petratos (Sydney FC) Nike Mercurial Vapor II |
Sydney FC midfielder Dimitri Petratos was seen in his gold Nike Vapor II boots at the weekend during a round 13 A-League match between Sydney FC and the Newcastle Jets at the Sydney Football Stadium. |
Thierry Henry (New York Red Bulls) Reebok Instante Pro |
Thierry Henry was seen playing in his Reebok Instante Pro football boots during the second leg of the MLS playoffs at Red Bull Arena. The boots go hand-in-hand with the colour of his Red Bulls kit. |
Keisuke Honda (CSKA Moscow) Mizuno Wave Ignitus |
We recently showcased the new colourways of the Mizuno Wave Ignitus football boots. Interestingly, Keisuke Honda was seen in the original yellow colourway as CSKA Moscow took on FC Krylia Sovetov Samara. |
David Beckham (LA Galaxy) adidas Predator X |
David Beckham showcased his new Predator X football boots for the second time during the MLS Western Conference Semifinal match second leg between Seattle Sounders FC and LA Galaxy at The Home Depot Center. The boots have received a great reaction since he first debuted them. |
Jason Garey (Columbus Crew) Under Armour Dominates |
Jason Garey made a surprise boot choice this weekend, after appearing in the Under Armor Create football boots all season he opted for the Dominates, which are a completely different boot and offer an alternative performance. |
Alessandro Diamanti (Brescia) adidas World Cups |
He's worn CTR360 Maestri and Puma King football boots recently, but this is quite a shock boot choice as Diamanti appeared in a retro pair of adidas World Cup football boots at the weekend. |
Carlos Tevez (Manchester City) Nike CTR360 Maestri Elite |
Interestingly, Tevez has reverted back into the Elite colourway of the Nike CTR360 Maestri football boots, the first CTR's he wore after switching out of his Legends. |
Steven Pienaar (Everton) adidas F50 adizero Intense Green |
The plan for adidas is to get as many of their stars into these great looking Intense Green colourways, and Steven Pienaar is the latest player to make the switch. |
Jonathan Walters (Stoke City) Puma v-Konstrukt II |
Now here's a boot we haven't seen for a while! The Puma v-Konstrukt II football boots received a mixed review when they were first released, but they're clearly the right boot for Walters who is sticking by his boot choice. |
Samuel eto'o (Inter Milan) Puma v1.10 SL |
Puma speedstar Samuel Eto'o was once again a great ambassador for the v1.10 SL football boots as his goal salvaged a draw against Brescia for Inter. We also couldn't help but notice the mixed-stud soleplate Eto'o was sporting. |
