Nike Superfly III Headlines Madrid Derby
On a day of countless new boot-spots, the new Nike Superfly III football boots stole the show yesterday! The new Mercurial boots were on show all across Europe but all eyes turned to the Vicente CalderÓn last night as Atletico Madrid took on Real Madrid in one of the hottest local derbies in world football.
Cristiano Ronaldo and Mesut Ozil topped the list of players to wear the new Nike Superfly III boots that also included the likes of Marcelo, Jose Antonio Reyes and Sergio Aguero. Mesut Ozil ensured the new Superfly III boots made it onto the score sheet along with adiZero wearer Karim Benzema, as Real Madrid picked up their fourth derby win of the season with a 2-1 win over Atletico.
It was hard not to spot the new Nike Superfly III boots as the new fluorescent lightning bolt design made the Superfly III's the stand out boots on the pitch! The new pattern is designed to put players into the spotlight, with the idea of creating a faster pass rate to strikers and wingers.
As we've come to expect, Cristiano Ronaldo was wearing his custom sole plate that doesn't feature one of the main design concepts of the Superfly boots - the NikeSENSE studs. It's not often that we see Ronaldo wearing the same colour-way as his fellow Superfly wearers. With the recent releases of his signature boots that have included the Safari and Windchill, we expect Nike to release another exclusive CR7 Superfly III soon!
